Your Jesus Message of the Day: Ask Jesus ‘What Is Forgiveness?’ - And Let Jesus Be Your Guide Each Day

Ephesians 1:7

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.

Those who seek forgiveness also seek freedom and peace. To live in a world of pain through holding on to anger and resentment caused by the inability to forgive will never know what it is like to experience true enlightenment under the true meaning of what it means to forgive. Your sins, and those of others are not tested, but the forgiveness behind each one is testament to your faith in me and will forever be your foundation of all that you practice.

Daniel 9:9

The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him.

It is in the Bible you will begin to understand the power of not staying angry forever. It is a delight to show mercy (Micah 7:18-19) to those who wrong you, and forever make it your mission to openly forgive the mistakes of others. In doing so, you will free yourself from the shackles of disappointment and be able to hurl your agony into the sea.

You will find many examples of forgiveness in the Bible, where I will teach you how to let go of the pain you are holding onto and replace it with light and compassion both for yourself and for those who have wronged you. They know not what they do, and their sins are only to be judged by me.

Jesus’ Forgiveness

Whilst upon the cross and during a time of eternal pain, I chose not to resent those who put me there, but to forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing (Luke 23:24). In this dire time, I was tested for my endurance to forgive and override the callus actions of those who put me there. As it so happens, I am now able to teach those who need the message to forgive, and I do so with my whole heart.

I am who you pray to, on those long nights where rumination takes over, and forgiveness seems impossible. I call to you to look into the eyes of those who have done you harm and see where their own insecurities and values lie. This is not about you, but about their unchanging desire to not think about the thoughts or feelings of others.

In forgiving those who have sinned against you, it is I who will also forgive you. One thing to remember is that forgiveness is a chain, and with a link missing, none of it will be possible in the long run.

What Jesus Does for You

Facing Forgiveness Alone

My holiness blesses you with the idea that forgiveness alone is not forgiveness. Only when you accept that others are involved in the sins that need to be forgiven, can you truly offer out the knowledge that I have taught you and keep yourself loved at all times.

Learning The Value of Forgiveness

You will not grow unless you forgive. You will remain exactly the same as the day before, and exactly the same as tomorrow. With no lessons learned, nothing new will come to you in terms of love and hope. Faith cannot exist in those who refuse to grow, because why would faith be needed in living one day just the same as the last? The value of forgiveness is the value of growth.

Allowing Pain to Strengthen You

I understand that the pain caused by those you care about can be extensive, but this test in your skill to forgive them is watched over by me. In the pain you sit in, allow my love to shine down on you, and keep your soul warm as you strengthen in the true art of forgiveness.

Stay With Forgiveness

It is in the staying of forgiveness that it stops being a conscious effort to forgive, and instead becomes the healthiest habit you will undertake. If I as the Lord can forgive, then you must take it upon yourself to do the same and keep in your heart all that it means to let go of that which bothers you, for it is unnecessary to cling onto.

Colossians 3:13

Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

“Allow others the same grace that the Lord gave you.”
