Prayers for Mourning and Loved Ones
Prayer to bear this heavy burden of grief
Whether you are sad or happy, we all have moments in our lives where something happens that brings us down. But it's important to remember how much God loves each one of his children no matter what they do wrong - even if he doesn't approve! It can be really hard when someone close dies because there will always seem too much sadness involved with their passing.
Dear Lord,
I call upon you during this time of sorrow, and pray that you give me the strength and will to bear this heavy burden of grief.
At times, it feels impossible to continue with faith and hope in my heart, but I know your loving light will guide me back to my holy path.
As my loss of someone undeniably loved becomes too much to carry, may you ease my load with your loving reassurance that everything is going to be OK.
Lord, walk with me until I can feel the warmth and love of your divine compassion once more.
Be mindful and have mercy on me whilst my struggle to comprehend this loss unfolds.
As you recognize this grief pushing all other emotions to one side, may you give me the room to breathe through the pain and not forget my responsibilities.
Help me through each day with hope, and help lift my sorrow, my body and my soul away from the palpable grief.
