Prayer to accept their loss
We are gathered here today to accept the loss of a loved one. We know that you're in God's arms, and we hope our thoughts will be with you as well during this difficult time.
Dear Lord,
I reach out to you today in the hope that you can grant me the painful acceptance of the loss of a loved one.
As they transition into your forever care, allow me to feel the attachment of them be released and captured by your holy hands.
Please Lord, give my heart a peace that passes all understanding, as I come to terms with the loss of someone, I held so dear in this life.
Show me ways in which I can move forward with my family and friends, holding their memory dear, as I work through the process of losing them.
As I take this time to be still, I pray that you sit with me and understand my pain. As it turns to grief, it comes from the love I have that I no longer know what to do with.
Help me to let go of this feeling of helplessness, and allow me to feel your peaceful hand upon my shoulder.
