The Lord teaches us to love our neighbours as ourselves, but what about those we consider our enemies? The idea of reconciliation with those who have wronged us can be difficult to fathom. However, it is important to remember that every person is a child of God and deserving of forgiveness.
Dear Lord,
I know as people we may not, and certainly do not agree on everything. Those who we share this Earth with can sometimes be those who we choose not to see or speak to. We may clash in personality or belief, but I need to know that somewhere within all the conflict, there is still love.
I choose my words carefully so that they do not cause a further ripple of unnecessary hate, but it is in you I send my prayer to with the hope that you can create a vision of the future for us as people.
Our enemies, even as we clash and battle in life, should still beloved as people.
May they be noted for any difficulties in their past that may cause them to respond with anger or silence.
Give them hope that they can change under your light to be better people and that I myself an offer them a love they may never have experienced.
Help the lonely, and please help me love all.
Amen.
